This Online Care Certificate program covers all the agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected from specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.
There are 15 minimum standards to be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of any robust induction programme. With all our courses, the LMS provides complete learner oversight and each standard is CPD certified and available for immediate download upon completion.
What is the Care Certificate?
The Care Certificate is based on a set of standards that social care and health workers need to abide by as part of their daily routine in the care sector. Created by Health Education England, Skills for Care and Skills for Health it is a set of 15 modules that make up the care certificate standard. It is undertaken as part of induction training by new care workers. We offer this training course through our online learning platform.
How long does it take to complete the Care Certificate?
The average amount of time for an employee new to health and social care to demonstrate the expected competencies and related knowledge is 12 weeks. At Online Care Courses, however, we understand that completing this course alongside full-time employment may mean you require longer to study all 15 modules. Therefore a subscription with us allows access to the course content for 12 months from the date you sign up.
Is the Care Certificate mandatory?
There is no statutory requirement for care providers to implement the Care Certificate meaning the Care Quality Commission do not actively enforce it. However, CQC inspectors do regularly enforce regulations covering staff learning and development. As a result, they expect to see evidence that induction programmes meet Care Certificate standards. Help Support your staff with our cost-effective training programme, ideal for all social care sectors.
How is the Care Certificate assessed and how do I get my Certificate?
Once you or your staff have completed the learning section of the course you will take a multiple-choice quiz to test your knowledge. After you have completed your assessment, your digital certificate confirming your commitment to high-quality care will be readily available to download on our own LMS.
CPD Standards Office accreditation provides credibility to our online courses that just aren't available with other e-learning providers. Via evidence-based accreditation you are ensuring your organisation's standards are high and consistent, as well as offering employees engaging and substantive learning with which to enrich their careers.
More information can be found on the CPD website.
After you have completed your assessment (including a multiple-choice questionnaire), your digital certificate confirming your commitment to high-quality care is sent to the email address used to login as soon as the course is completed.
If you have not received your certificate, please first check your spam box. If it isn't there, please call and we will get this resent.
